WHAT IS THE ORGANIC GROWERS GATHERING?

The Organic Growers Gathering is organised by growers for growers. From small scale fruit, vegetable, herb and flower growers to land workers, crafters and purveyors of folk music from across the UK. Whether you’re a master of the soil or a new entrant gaining experience seeding your ideas, there is something here for everyone.

We gather to network, skill share, build community, discover and learn. Expect lots of practical sessions, workshops, breakout spaces for skill sharing and networking. As well as organic vegan food, live music, sauna and wellbeing space as part of a small festival.

The gathering is hosted at the Hardwick Estate, including Tolhurst Organic CIC, one of the longest running organic farms in the UK renowned for pioneering, ethical stock free organic standards. Set in the beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside.

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

And to answer it, we have to explore a couple of related ideas. What does it mean to have an annual gathering of the organic growing community? Why does this thing exist? It started because we love growing. It started because we love our farms and we love the land. We knew that there were other people like us out there, and we wanted to provide a space for all of us to come together and talk about what it is that we do.

In boring terms, it is currently a limited company because that is what makes sense after 3 years at the size that we are. We are looking at becoming a not-for-profit when it reaches a point where that is justified, but this is about so much more than just a tax designation.

We recognise that in order to build stability and resilience within the organic community, something like this is necessary. We all do important work, and we need something to rally around, somewhere to support each other and somewhere to learn from each other. It has evolved, and it will continue to evolve, but underneath it all it remains the same. It is organised by growers, for growers. And it will stay that way.

PURPOSE & OBJECTIVES

PURPOSE & OBJECTIVES

ACCESSIBILITY

Through strategic partnerships and sponsorships, the OGG is built on a model of half the tickets being subsidised "Bursary Tickets" to ensure economic and systemic barriers don't prevent participation. The gathering recognises that organic growers—despite their vital work—are among the lowest-paid workers in the UK and deserve equal access to professional development.

All sessions are designed for meaningful exchange, with dedicated time for questions and collaborative dialogue. We actively work to remove financial, cultural, and logistical barriers to participation, ensuring our gathering reflects the full spectrum of organic growing practices and perspectives.

COMMITMENT TO EQUITABLE ACCESS & INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY

At OGG, we recognise that access to land, resources, and even our event itself remains unequally distributed across communities. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive space where diverse voices and experiences are not only represented but celebrated. Our commitment extends to ensuring our gathering is accessible, welcoming, and relevant to growers from all backgrounds and circumstances. We actively work to remove financial, cultural, and logistical barriers to participation while fostering meaningful connections across our community.

As we cultivate resilience in organic growing practices, we are equally committed to nurturing a more equitable and representative agricultural movement. We welcome your insights and suggestions as we continue growing together toward a more inclusive and sustainable future.

GROWER OUTREACH

The OGG facilitates a space of approximately 500 passionate attendees annually, while extending its impact far beyond through strategic social media engagement, press coverage, and recorded sessions—with plans to implement live-streaming this year to reach an even wider audience.

ORGANIC COMMITMENT

As the UK works to advance its organic agriculture sector to match European counterparts like Austria, the OGG stands as a cornerstone event. This commitment extends to every aspect of the gathering, including catering—featuring organic vegetables from local farms.

STRENGTHENING NETWORKS

The OGG cultivates powerful alliances among farming networks while elevating growers' voices to build a more resilient community farming future. The gathering stands in solidarity with practitioners, strengthens food systems, builds community resilience, and plants seeds for innovative collaboration—essential elements of the growing food and land justice movement.

EDUCATIONAL & PRACTICAL SKILLS

The OGG delivers immersive, hands-on learning experiences through practical workshops, farm-hacks, interactive demonstrations, constructive panel discussions, and guided farm tours—cultivating a space where knowledge transforms into applicable skills.

All sessions are designed for meaningful exchange, with dedicated time for questions and collaborative dialogue. We actively work to remove financial, cultural, and logistical barriers to participation, ensuring our gathering reflects the full spectrum of organic growing practices and perspectives.

SHARED LEARNING

The OGG unites aligned organic networks to foster a fair ecosystem of knowledge exchange and mutual growth. The gathering co-creates a multi-generational, diverse educational collective—a vibrant celebration of deep connections to the land and sustainable growing practices.
